Calling all aspiring writers:
The Lehigh Valley Young Writers Fest is an all-day event taking place at Eckhaus Gallery in Kutztown, PA on March 21st (poster advertisement is forthcoming). In a time of Common Core and non-fiction, local teacher/poet, Kail
ey Tedesco, hoped to create a one day event where middle-level (seventh and eighth grade) students from local districts could share their creative poetry and fiction in a positive, encouraging environment!
Collaborators such as Lehigh Valley Vanguard, a locally established publication, are coming together to sponsor the event. College students majoring in Professional Writing will share tips/advice on how to make writing a career, rather than a pipe dream. Published writers will attend to lead fun and productive exercises to help generate new ideas and material.
Submissions from seventh and eighth grade students who wish to read at the event will be accepted from December 21st – February 1st (by midnight). One exceptionally talented writer will be published in Lehigh Valley Vanguard!
All are welcome to attend! Please stay tuned for more information! And, most importantly, keep writing! You are brilliant!
Please send poetry/short story submissions to:
lvyoungwriters@gmail.com
(Include your name and grade as the subject)
