LVYWF was created and founded by local teacher/poet, Kailey Tedesco.  In founding the LVYWF, Kailey hoped to create a one day event where middle-level (seventh and eighth grade) students from local districts could share their creative poetry and fiction in a positive, encouraging environment.

In addition, the LVYWF is sponsored by the Lehigh Valley Vanguard, a self-described “visual and literary symposium of intellectuals and artists.” The Vanguard is a locally established online publication that is dedicated not only to publishing thought-provoking material, but also cultivating grassroots activism and engagement in the community.
